In February, PCRC met with the World Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive a material donation of three computers from Communications Officer, Jasmina Hadzic and BiH Country Manager, Emanuel Salinas. PCRC was awarded this donation after review from the World Bank’s selection committee, which assessed our organization’s ability to use the equipment in a manner that achieves “positive social and economic impacts.” In our discussion with the World Bank, PCRC outlined the uses for the three computers being donated, including in the training of our annual class of Balkan Diskurs Youth Correspondents, producing multimedia new stories, project planning and development, and day-to-day operations. Our organizations further discussed possibilities for collaboration on several initiatives we both address. Both the World Bank and PCRC work in Bosnian communities to improve public sector efficiency, create a productive economic environment, and reduce gender inequality.
