Shelled, burned – but reborn – Sarajevska Vijećnica / Sarajevo City Hall will be the center of events organized by the Post-Conflict Research Center, Grad Sarajevo – City Of Sarajevo, Information Center on the International Criminal Court the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Sarajevo, Srebrenica Memorial Center and the Memory Module to mark 30 years since the beginning of the longest siege of a capital in modern history. The events will be held on April 4 and 5 with the partnership and support of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, UN International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, British Embassy Sarajevo, King’s College London, Opština Novo Sarajevo and Sarajevska Vijećnica / Sarajevo City Hall.
The photography exhibition “Siege” by Dr. Paul Lowe will be displayed, followed by the international conference “30. Years Later – Sarajevo.” Renowned local and international experts, journalists, and academics will participate in the conference including Mayor Benjamina Karić rođ. Londrc, Neil Kavanagh (British Embassy Sarajevo), Johann Sattler (Evropska unija u Bosni i Hercegovini), Velma Saric (The Post-Conflict Research Center (PCRC)), Carmel Agius, Serge Brammertz and Rada Pejić-Sremac (UN International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals), Emir Suljagić (Srebrenica Memorial Center, James Gow, Rachel Kerr and Ilana Bet-El (King’s College London), General Sir Rupert Smith, Sean Maguire, Remy Ourdan (WARM Foundation), Dr Ivo Komšić, Dr Elijas Tauber, Amra Abadžić Lowe, Miodrag Trifunov, Hana Bajrović, Nihad Kreševljaković (Festival MESS) and young correspondents of our Balkan Diskurs.
