At the UN commemoration of the International Day of Genocide Victims and Prevention, our President and Founder, Velma Šarić, highlighted the critical role of the Mothers of Srebrenica in establishing transitional justice institutions, advocating for international resolutions, and shaping the Srebrenica Memorial Center. She emphasized that truth, justice, and trust are essential for reconciliation. The event was organized to mark 30 years since the genocides in Rwanda and Srebrenica, underscoring memorialization as a vital tool for education, prevention, and honoring victims. UN officials, survivors, and experts called for stronger measures against genocide denial, hate speech, and division while advocating for justice and accountability.
