PCRC’s President and Founder Velma Šarić and Program Director Tatjana Milovanović attended a high-profile event of the European Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Service in Brussels, Belgium titled “Dismantling the Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) house of cards”.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, highlighted that information manipulation is one of the most profitable tools of modern hybrid warfare. To combat it, we must dismantle the very business model on which it is based. Therefore, the main message of the conference is clear: The information space has become a crucial area in which state-sponsored actors try to deceive and manipulate citizens by shaping public opinion, political choices, and even election results. The fight for truth through facts is no longer just a matter of information, but a fundamental pillar of defending our right to a free and sovereign future.
