If you happen to be in or around Amsterdam this fall, be sure to check out a new group exhibition titled ”From what will we reassemble ourselves”. The exhibition brings together six contemporary artists, a team of researchers, and an architect to consider a crucial question: from what fragments – images, stories, archives, historical scraps – does one represent life in the wake of genocide? It positions the genocide that took place in and around Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina 25 years ago as a historical moment connecting all the artworks presented. A crucial part of the exhibition are audio recordings and a short documentary produced for the #FacingSrebrenica project by our center and Pinch Media that present testimonies of individuals who survived the genocide. The exhibition was opened on September 6, 2020 in the ‘Framer Framed’ art gallery and will be available to the public until January 3, 2021.
