Our center participated in the international conference organized by the International Nuremberg Principles Academy in cooperation with the Office of the High Representative in BiH, with the support of IRZ and TRIAL International, entitled “Criminalizing Genocide Denial: Law, Accountability and Prevention”. Our Project Director, Tatjana Milovanović, moderated the panel entitled “From legal inaction to the culture of impunity and denial”, which made an important contribution to the discussion on the perspectives of survivors in the process of action to prevent the culture of impunity and on the role of memorial institutions and civil society in this process. The importance of legal measures against the denial of genocide and war crimes was emphasized, and the panel discussed the role of education of future generations as a method of prevention and guarantee of non-repetition. This conference was an exceptional opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experiences and another confirmation of how important it is to be dedicated to justice, truth and facing the past together.
