PCRC organized a screening of ”THE VETO”, a documentary film by Tim Slade examining the UN Security Council’s veto power. The screening was followed by a discussion featuring Jennifer Trahan, professor at the #NYU School of Professional Studies, moderated by our Founder & President Velma Šarić.
The UN Security Council veto itself isn’t going away – it’s “veto-proof.” But when vetoes are cast in the face of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, states’ obligations under international law and the UN Charter must also be considered.
