PEACE Festival
Date of implementation: 2022 – ongoing
Partners: Al Jazeera Balkans, Ethno-village “Čardaci” Vitez, Youth City Theater Vitez
Supported by: Slovak Aid, OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina
The PEACE Festival is PCRC’s flagship initiative, designed to empower youth and local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to actively engage in peacebuilding through arts projects, workshops, and activities focused on conflict transformation and social reconciliation.
Since its launch in March 2022, four editions of the Festival have been successfully held in Vitez, a central Bosnian community that endured severe atrocities during the 1992–1995 war. Each year, the Festival brings together 40–50 local Bosnian youth, providing a dynamic program that includes movie screenings, workshops, theater performances, concerts, literary readings, and exhibition openings.
Through these activities, participants are encouraged to take an active role in peacebuilding and social processes, fostering a more inclusive and shared understanding of the country’s past and future.
